After having practiced corporate law in some of Paris’ most prestigious law firms, Mathieu founded and has directed Altermind since 2008. He advises entrepreneurs as well as many leaders of major French and foreign groups.
A strong believer in freedom, he regularly exchanges views with leading political leaders in Europe.
He teaches at Sciences Po and is a columnist for Le Point and Le Figaro. He is also part of the new team on the radio show L'Esprit Public on France Culture.

Erwan, a lawyer by training, joined Altermind in 2012, after two years at theAutorité de la concurrence (the French Competition Authority). He teaches Competition Law at Sciences Po.
Erwan is regularly published in the media and the French press (he writes a column in L'Opinion and is a regular editorialist for Le Figaro and on CNews). He is the author of La France des Opportunités, (ed.Les Belles Lettres 2017). He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Fondation pour l’innovation politique (Paris).
A former collaborator on the Attali Commission and the Comité des Sages Afep-Medef (an Afep-Medef Committee on CEOs’ remunerations), he has written several reports for French think-tanks (Institut Montaigne, Fondation pour l'innovation politique, Fondation Croissance, including a policy note on economic reform Gouverner pour réformer) and chaired an association for equal opportunities in the Parisian suburbs.
Benoît joined Altermind in 2017, having practiced law for 7 years in the public law departments at Hogan Lovells (2010 — 2013) and Clifford Chance (2013 — 2017). He teaches Public Contract Law at Sciences Po.
He has specialist knowledge of the public and regulated sectors and operates mainly in the field of infrastructure (network industries and social structures) and energy.
He is the author of several projects for the Terra Nova Foundation, including a report on the renovation of public services, in addition to his legal articles.
A Sciences Po Paris graduate (Master’s degree in Corporate Finance and Strategy), Florian has started his career in 2006 in investment banking at Lazard and then Deutsche Bank/ Florian has advised clients in multiple industries on dozens of M&A, ECM and financing situations. In 2014, Florian has joined Groupe FNAC, a 4bn€ European listed retailer specialized in consumer electronics and cultural products, to become Head of M&A and Corporate Development. Among other deals, Florian has conducted the largest transaction of the history of FNAC, namely the acquisition of their main competitor Darty plc, listed in the UK.
In 2016, Florian has been appointed Group Strategy Director of Fnac Darty with a direct report to Alexandre Bompard, CEO, and joined the Executive Committee. As Strategy Director, and whilst retaining the role of Head of M&A, Florian has conducted the integration of FNAC and Darty, and designed the strategic plan for the new group, and was also in charge of partnerships.
In January 2018, Florian has joined Back Market, a marketplace specialized in refurbished electronic devices, as CFO. There he conducted a 41m€ Series B with Groupe Arnault and Eurazeo.
Florian joined Altermind in January 2019.
With over 15 years of experience and high-level expertise, Khaled joined Altermind in 2018. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Toulouse School of Economics (France), where he still teaches Business Strategy. He brings his expertise in competition and regulation.
Khaled has advised competition and regulatory authorities around Europe (including the FSA, HMRC and Utility regulators in the UK, DG Competition and other Directorates of the European Commission, and the French competition authority) and large companies in sectors including Broadcasting, Energy, Internet of Things, retail distribution (online and brick-and-mortar), Payment systems, Social Networks.
In his early career, he was an assistant professor at the CentER for Economic Research at Tilburg University (Netherlands) and a senior economic adviser with the UK Ofcom. Khaled has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals and more recently, co-authored a chapter on state aid in the postal sector in an authoritative book on state aid.
Cristian holds a Master’s degree in economics of markets and organizations from Toulouse School of Economics. He joined Altermind in 2018.
His degree gave him strong knowledge in industrial economics, economic regulation and econometrics. Apart from his studies, Cristian has acquired skills in data analysis, data modelling and programming.
His professional background includes an experience in the medium-term forecasting department at the Central Bank of Moldova, where he worked on inflation forecasting.
Arnaud is a lawyer by training, and holds a Master's degree in Business Law - DJCE from Toulouse I University and a Master's degree in Media and Communication Law from Panthéon Assas University Paris II.
Arnaud joined Altermind in 2019 after working at CSA (Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel) on competition law and economic regulation issues. He was initially project manager for the Department of Studies, Economic Affairs and Prospective Studies. He has been involved in the assessment of the Competition Authority's recommendations. Later he became counselor to the Chairman of the CSA and chaired Les états généraux des nouvelles régulations numériques on behalf of the president.
Arnaud has gained extensive expertise in competition law within the General Secretariat of M6 Group and the Competition Law Department of Allen & Overy LLP.
Aurélie has been working for more than10 years as a research scientist and an entrepreneur in computationalsciences, in the United States and in France. She is a specialist of applied mathematics and computer programming; her work is dedicated to understanding and detecting the biases in algorithms and technologies. She also has experience in abroad range of disciplines such as engineering, medicine, economics, finance, and journalism.
In 2016, Aurélie founded In Silico Veritas in NYC, a consulting agency that guides corporations and governments into their data and AI transformations. Aurélie teaches graduate algorithm lectures in American (MIT) and European Universities (INSEAD, IE Business, Duke Corporate Education). Aurélie contributes to several magazines in the United States and in France.
She is a member of the Sapiens Institute in Paris, and is actively engaging in boards and committees in France (Demain.IA, Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel), in England (Nexus Frontier Tech) and in the United States (Code For Fun).
Rodolphe Durand is the HEC Foundation Chaired Professor of Strategy at HEC-Paris and the academic director of the Society and Organizations Center (SnO) which he launched in 2009.
Over the recent years, he was Visiting Professor at New York University (Stern Business School) and at Cambridge University (Judge Business School), and in 2012 Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School.
His domains of interest are the evaluation of firms, CSR policies, and their links with performance and competitive advantage.
For his work, Rodolphe received awards from the American Sociological Association, the European Academy of Management, and the Strategic Management Society among others. As an advisor, senior advisor, and non-executive board member, he works with multiple organizations on assessing competitive advantage, and developing and implementing new strategies.
Murielle joined Altermind in 2018. She gained a long experience in business administration (SME) in sectors including telecommunications, construction, luxury world travel and hospitality, spending most of her career in South Pacific.
