Mathieu Laine, Founding President

After having practiced corporate law in some of Paris’ most prestigious law firms, Mathieu founded and has directed Altermind since 2008. He advises entrepreneurs as well as many  leaders of major French and foreign groups.

A strong believer in freedom, he regularly exchanges views with leading political leaders in Europe.

He teaches at Sciences Po and is a columnist for Le Point and Le Figaro. He is also part of the new team on the radio show L'Esprit Public on France Culture.

He is the author of several books:

Erwan Le Noan, Partner

Erwan, a lawyer by training, joined Altermind in 2012, after two years at theAutorité de la concurrence (the French Competition Authority). He teaches Competition Law at Sciences Po.

Erwan is regularly published in the media and the French press (he writes a column in L'Opinion and is a regular editorialist for Le Figaro and on CNews). He is the author of La France des OpportunitĂ©s, (ed.Les Belles Lettres 2017). He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Fondation pour l’innovation politique (Paris).

A former collaborator on the Attali Commission and the ComitĂ© des Sages Afep-Medef (an Afep-Medef Committee on CEOs’ remunerations), he has written several reports for French think-tanks (Institut Montaigne, Fondation pour l'innovation politique, Fondation Croissance, including a policy note on economic reform Gouverner pour rĂ©former) and chaired an association for equal opportunities in the Parisian suburbs.

BenoĂ®t Thirion, Senior Consultant

BenoĂ®t joined Altermind in 2017, having practiced law for 7 years in the public law departments at Hogan Lovells (2010 — 2013) and Clifford Chance (2013 — 2017). He teaches Public Contract Law at Sciences Po.

He has specialist knowledge of the public and regulated sectors and operates mainly in the field of infrastructure (network industries and social structures) and energy.

He is the author of several projects for the Terra Nova Foundation, including a report on the renovation of public services, in addition to his legal articles.

Rodolphe Durand, Senior Advisor

HEC Foundation, Chaired Professor of Strategy at HEC-Paris, Rodolphe is the Academic Director of the Centre Society and Organizations (SnO).

In recent years he has been Visiting Professor at New York University (Stern Business School) and Cambridge University (Judge Business School) as well as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School.

His areas of research are business valuation, CSR policies and their relationship to performance and competitive advantage. For his work he has received awards from the American Sociological Association, the European Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society, among others. As consultant, senior advisor and non-executive board member he has helped many organizations establish their competitive advantage as they develop and implement new business strategies.

Jòan joined Altermind in 2017. A graduate of the Sorbonne University, he teaches corporate law at Paris I University and is preparing his thesis on personal data protection law in the United States and the European Union.
